Pterocarya fraxinifolia (Caucasian Wing Nut)
A Vigorous large growing tree, forming a wide dense head as wide as it is tall. Leaves are large pinnate with 17-21 leaflets, The pendulous fruit catkins remain on the tree during the winter months. The nutlets carry two semicircular wings. Produces root suckers. Prefers moist soils and is resistant to long-lasting flooding.
Ultimate height 25m (80ft), Spread 25m (80ft).
