Amelanchier (Snowy Mespilus)

Amelanchier are members of the Rose family, and have attractive flowers early in the Spring before the leaves appear; with good Autumn colours, best on lime-free soils. We sell them as trees or as multi-stem bushes.

 

Amelanchier canadensis

A small spreading tree with white star shaped flowers in March-April, followed by small leaves copper when young turning green, then getting Autumn tints of orange and reds. We sell both trees and Multi-stem bushes.

Ultimate height  4m (13ft),  Spread  5m (16ft).

 

Amelanchier grandiflora Robin Hill

A more upright habit of growth, flower buds pink in bud and the flowers are shell pink, the leaves are bronze at first, turning darker green in summer, good shades of red and orange in Autumn.

Ultimate height  4m (13ft),  Spread  3m (10ft).

Amelanchier lamarkii

Small tough, bushy tree, star shaped white flowers in April, with bronze tinted new foliage. Autumn colours red. Available as a Multi-stem bush only.

Ultimate height  4m (13ft),  Spread  3m (10ft).
